Volunteer Firefighter/EMT - Closes 9/30/26

Volunteers either respond from home or staff one of our stations in a standby capacity and respond to calls as needed. Volunteer Firefighter/EMTs are expected to staff one of our stations for a minimum of 72 hours a quarter, In addition, volunteer cover open part time shifts due to sick calls, vacations or mobilizations. Volunteers are eligible to participate in state and national mobilizations. Applicants are required to have passed National Registry EMT Exam or a basic firefighting academy to a minimum of IFSAC Firefighter 1.  Members lacking one of the certifications will be required to complete the other certification at the next available opportunity.  Volunteers are given a reimbursement stiped with costs associated with volunteering. The stipend is limited to $30,137 per year for 2026. In addition, volunteer FF/EMTs are eligible to receive a monthly VEBA contribution.
